Don't cite a source that you have not seen yourself.  You are reading an article (or other work) and see some information or a quotation you want to use, and the author of the article has cited a different source.  Your first job is to see if you can find the source cited.  If you can, first check that the information or quotation has been used correctly.  If it is, then cite the original source, not the article which you first saw.  If you cannot find the original source, then your in-text reference includes "qtd. in ..." ("quoted in ...).  The list of Works Cited gives the work in which YOU found the information, not where the author of the article found it.

T. S. Eliot puts this well:  “The author of a work of imagination is trying to affect us wholly, as human beings, whether he knows it or not; and we are affected by it, as human beings, whether we intend to be or not”  (qtd. in Cameron).

It is better not to underline URLs :  they are more readable if not underlined. If your word processing program automatically underlines URLs, you can set it not to do so. In MicroSoft Word, go to Tools >> Autocorrect options. Under the AutoFormat As You Type tab, section Replace as you type, clear the Internet and network paths with hyperlinks check box.   (If your paper is online and uses live hyperlinks, then by all means leave the URLs underlined.)
